in keeping in line with the goal that dolci and i set last week (to exercise 3x this week minimum), i just got back from a jog. nothing too intense, but for me it definitely counts as exercise. this is my second one of the week and i'm slowly slowly building up my stamina and muscle tone again after a year of living a sedentary lifestyle. hopefully be then end of the week i will be up to, or close to, what my usual run use to be (a 3 mile loop basically in reasonable time). woo.

Dolci's Own Black Beans & Rice
Bring to a boil: 1 T of extra virgin OO, 1/2 c of water, and about 1 t of Adobe Seasoning. Stir in 1 chopped tomato and 1/4 chopped white onion, return to a boil. Stir in 1 can of black beans (do not drain). If you like your beans thicker, blend another can of black beans and combine. Stir every few minutes.
Cook 1/2 c of long grain rice. Let beans cook on med-low heat until rice is done. Then, pile the beans on top of the rice - and enjoy!
*** This meal is Diabetic/IR/PCOS compatible.

Well, this is the first time in my entire college career when I'm actually feeling in control of the 'stressing finals situation.' I've kept myself on track all semester. I've gotten As on every single exam. I've got enough time ta' even get As on my finals, but I don't even hafta' - 'cause I worked so darn hard. I'm extremely proud of myself, but it's more than that. I've become someone who knows she can handle it.
Now, onto working on humbling myself a bit...

Finally, some nice weather
one of my resolutions that i made a few months ago was that once the weather got above 65 i would start jogging, and also starting may 1 i'll go to the gym. well the weather finally got above 65 this weekend but unfortunately i hurt my back and can't even bend over, let alone run around. however, i decided a nice leisurely bike ride was better than no exercise at all! i hope everyone who's had crap weather in the north east is enjoying the weekend!

Jess and I have just created this community - and we already have a member! Jess went ta' sleep for the night, so I'll just write a quick introduction that she can update in the morning:
The Baffled Bees are all about joy, personal growth and impact, self-love, friendship, sharing, connection, positivity, education - all that good stuff! We come here to be our shiny li'l selves and ta' share in the responsibility of inspiring one another to keep on shining.
If we had a theme song, it'd sing: "Strong bodies and strong minds..."
Membership is open ta' anyone, but will be moderated! Unkindness and negativity is not tolerated here. We not only hafta' pride ourselves on being loving and supportive, but we must keep our hearts open to our own lives, too!
